Assistant Professor (Emerging IT Policy)
Graduate School of Science & Technology Policy, KAIST

 

The Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy (STP) at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) invites applications for an assistant professor position in emerging information technology policy. We are particularly interested in scholars exploring the policy dimensions in the governance of emerging information technologies, which would include but not limited to: cybersecurity, privacy, Internet governance, artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), etc.

 

We are seeking highly qualified candidates trained in law, political science, sociology, history, philosophy, anthropology, or science and technology studies (STS). We welcome applicants capable of collaborating with science and engineering faculty, employing interdisciplinary methods and comparative perspectives.

 

Ph.D. or equivalent must be in hand prior to appointment, which is expected to begin on March 1, 2017. The starting date is negotiable. The successful candidate will be jointly appointed with the KAIST Graduate School of Information Security (GSIS).

 

Review of applications begins on November 7th (Monday), 2016, and continue until the position is filled. Complete applications including two or more writing samples, three recommendation letters, and an official transcript will be requested of the candidates selected from the first round review.
